11 Planning lighting
As with everything else in production some organized forethought and planning will enormously help the process of getting good results from lighting.
The first stage of planning is to gather all the necessary information, the next stage is to think out what can be achieved and how best to achieve it, and the final stage is to methodically work through all the details of the plan to ensure that every possibility is catered for.
Gathering the information can be done by asking, and getting answers for, a set of questions. Some will be answered by the director, some by the lighting designer.
