Anchor News presenter. Anchor is more widely used in North America as a term. In Britain this is alternatively: newscaster, news reader, news presenter or just presenter.

Archive Old library footage. Sometimes also called ‘File tape’.

Assignment sheet Vital logistical information about the event to be covered. Where to meet, and when, and possible problems on location.

Aston Words on the screen. The reporter’s name. An interviewee’s name. Library or ‘Recent’ Pictures. Most of the time Astons are put onto TV reports live.

Autocue/autoscript A familiar term. This is the system which projects the script across the studio or location camera lens. This enables the presenter to keep eye contact with the audience.
