Your first 30 seconds in a studio wilt have the most impact on the entire crew. Get this right, and everyone will bend over backwards to help you throughout the day.

Give the people what they need

The presenter and producer need to hear someone they believe will be able to hold the programme together if it all goes horribly wrong.

Technical crews will give a director anything he wants, but expect the director to understand what is, and what is not, possible. Know what you want before you go into the studio, and find out beforehand if you are asking for the impossible.
