VT scripts

Here we look at a simple single news story. It has an intro by the news-reader, followed by a VT.

VTR

This title (Anfield Video) matches the clock on the front of the VT and the name of this page of the script.

Tape number

The number should be written both on the tape itself and on its cover box.

IQ (in words)

Stands for In cue’. They are the first words on the tape, and are used by the VT operator to check they have the correct story lined up.

OQ (out words)

These are used by sound, the vision mixer and the director, who all specifically listen for the words written here. Normally the last two or three seconds of words on the VT are written here.
