Introduction

This chapter will help power users to get an idea on how to perform certain tasks with shell scripts. These tasks include creating syslog entries using the logger command, taking backups, creating graphics and presentations on the CLI, checking file integrity and tampering, mounting network file systems and retrieving files, browsing the web, capturing network traffic, finding binary dependencies, and encrypting and decrypting a files. In this chapter, users will learn how to use scripts to do these tasks.
