Despite preemployment screening having reached record levels over the last 6 years, employee misconduct and illegal activity on the job have increased at an unprecedented level. One can only imagine the levels of illicit behavior that may have been reached if organizations were not conducting background screening at heightened levels. Based on the dichotomy of this higher level of screening and higher level of misconduct, it is an inescapable conclusion that conducting preemployment screening is not sufficient to stem the tide of the onslaught of employee fraud and identity, information, and property theft. ...
