How to do it...

Steps to create an Alias record:

  1. Select your hosted zone.
  2. Click on Create Record Set to create a new record.
  3. Provide the following values:
    1. Name: We will keep it blank, as we want to resolve test.packttest.com.
    2. Type: Select A - IPv4 address.
DNS: Resource Record Type
    1. Alias: select Yes.
    2. Choose the Alias target from the following:
      • S3 Endpoint
      • ELB Application Load Balancer
      • ELB Classic Load Balancer
      • CloudFront Distributions
      • Elastic Beanstalk
      • Record Sets in the hosted zone
    3. Provide the Alias Hosted Zone ID (this is specific to selected Alias Target).
    4. Routing Policy: Select Simple.
    5. Evaluate Target Health: Select Yes if you ...
