Think of a scenario where you want to give access of your logs to your security team without them logging into the server and creating a separate log server can be little expensive.

CloudWatch logs give you the ability to monitor and troubleshoot your systems and applications, and custom log files. You can ship your logs to CloudWatch and monitor them in near real time, for specific phrases, values, or patterns.

For example, you can set up an alarm on specific errors based on your system logs (such as, user log in failed) or view graphs based on your application logs (such as, the latency of web requests).
