In this recipe, we will create a monitoring alert for CPU utilization and send an email to the appropriate recipient. Similarly, you can create an alert for various other resources and can also create custom metrics to monitor.
To create metrics and send a notification, you will need access to CloudWatch and SNS (to send emails).
