30. Positive Leadership Begins with Awareness
Look around. Who are the leaders in your organization? Your first inclination may be to think of people in upper management or ownership positions as the leaders in your company, but look closely. You will find leaders at every level. Although there are born leaders, positive leadership consists of qualities you can develop. If you want to become a leader, start by developing an awareness of the qualities that set positive leaders apart from others. Study leaders you respect. Read about historical leaders who have had a positive impact on their world. What qualities did they possess that made them effective leaders?
