Effects

Adding effects in Avid is a Timeline task. It happens only on the Sequence side in Avid (see Figure 4.1). You can’t place effects on a source or an original clip. Effects work begins with the Effect Palette—the list of all your effects, similar to FCP’s Effect menu—which can be called up from the keyboard by pressing Command-8 (Mac) or Control-8 (PC); from the menu: Tools > Effect Palette; or from the Effect Palette tab in the Project window.
