Creating Images and Animation from Your Design Data

2D drawings have long been the standard in engineering communication, but increasingly they're seen as an incomplete means of communication. Building 3D geometry and using it only as a resource for 2D drawings is selling your work short. There is much more you can do with it.

Let's start with manufacturing and maintenance documentation. The exploded view is a great communication tool. In Chapter 6, you used an Autodesk Inventor 2012 presentation file to create an exploded view drawing. In this chapter, you will see how that presentation file was created.
