Chapter 5. 3D Primitives and Conversions

In the previous chapter, we saw the creation of solids and surfaces based on linear objects. In the current chapter, we will see the remaining commands to create 3D solids and 3D surfaces, followed by conversion commands.

The topics covered in this chapter are as follows:

  • Creating 3D solid basic shapes
  • Creating planar surfaces
  • Creating planar surfaces delimited by linear objects
  • How to convert objects to solids
  • How to convert objects to surfaces

3D solid primitives

The 3D primitives are solid basic shapes like boxes, cylinders, spheres, and others. We can also apply a special solid primitive to create walls in a similar way as we create a polyline.
