Learning Basic Commands to Get Started

Now that you’ve taken a quick tour of the AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT screens, you’re ready to begin drawing! This chapter introduces you to some basic commands used in drawing with AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT. To get you started, this chapter guides you through the process of drawing a simple shape.

As you create this first drawing, you’ll learn to use several essential AutoCAD commands that will serve as a foundation for the rest of this book.
