6Arrangement and Orchestration

In this chapter, we will deal with the ways a producer might take a client’s work and adapt it so that it is the best incarnation of itself. Of course, this is a rather subjective process and is best done in agreement or participation with the artist. The process of optimizing a track will combine different elements of composition, arrangement and orchestration. However, for simplicity’s sake, where there might be crossover, I will refer to any of these changes as an alteration of a song’s arrangement.
