Acknowledgments

Where do you begin when there are so many people you would like to thank? Throughout my life I have had many ups and downs, but each experience and personal interaction has added value. Our history makes us who we are. Let me start by thanking everyone who has influenced me over the years, especially family, friends, and coworkers.

I am grateful for every Customer I have ever had the opportunity to interact with. You may have thought businesses were not listening, but I can assure you that I was, and I always shared feedback. I have been lucky to work with many extraordinary people over the years, but I do not have the space to thank each one individually. I do want to acknowledge some key people who have been very special and really added value to this book. Specifically, I would like to acknowledge the late Carol Anderson, from my first job in high school. At Vanguard Investments and Advanta bank, I learned the importance of mission and the importance of the employee culture. The people at both institutions continue to inspire me.
