Mitigating Risks and Navigating Pitfalls
There are as many risks of doing business in India as there are opportunities. The economic potential is certainly unmatched but so is the complex business environment. The World Bank’s Doing Business 2012 profile ranks India at 134 in the world in “Ease of Doing Business” as compared with Japan 20, Mexico 53, China 91, Russia 120, Brazil 126, and Indonesia 129 (Figure 3.1). “While this ranking tells much about the business environment in an economy, it does not tell the whole story.”1
