A comprehensive and effective carbon emission reduction strategy for a region or country entails addressing both energy supply and energy demand sides covering electricity as well as thermal energy affecting carbon emissions. For stationary emission point sources, carbon is mainly emitted from power generation plants and combustion of fuels.
