Assertive Communication

The ability to communicate effectively has implications for every part of life. Assertive communication can improve family relationships, enhance business relationships and improve the quality of life.

Assertive communication is your ability to transmit a message to someone else in a way that faithfully replicates it in someone else’s mind, i.e. they clearly understand. Equally, assertive communication is your ability to receive someone else’s message in a similar way, i.e. you understand.
