Summary

This chapter has gone over some of the standard Web server controls and two of the rich Web server controls, and as you can see, these controls add a dynamic to ASP.NET that the HTML server controls don’t have. As you just saw in the Calendar control, many of the properties are actually instances of other objects that expose multiple levels of properties and methods, giving you the opportunity to build very powerful applications.

Because the Web server controls are built around the same core parent objects across the board, after you master and understand these building blocks you can powerfully manipulate all the Web server controls, including both the validators that you’ll explore in the next chapter, and the list objects and DataGrids ...
