14. Guster Keeps It Together with Ganging Up on the Sun

Guster’s Ganging Up on the Sun is their follow up to the highly successful Keep It Together, released in 2003. Since its last recording, the group has evolved to a four-piece, adding Nashville-based multi-instrumentalist Joe Pisapia. The new record was completed in two parts: The first batch of songs was recorded in Nashville, and the second batch in New York.

Ganging Up on the Sun is a departure for Guster in more ways than one—in addition to increasing its lineup, the group also decided to record in classic, “big room” studios, including Nashville’s Sound Emporium and Allaire Studios in upstate New York.
