STRATEGIES FOR ORGANIZING PERSUASIVE PRESENTATIONS

There are a number of ways to organize a persuasive presentation. Here are four useful organizational patterns:

1. Problem-solution3. Cause and effect
2. Refutation4. Motivated sequence

Problem-Solution

The most basic of all organizational patterns for a persuasive speech is to create a problem for your audience and then solve it by presenting a convincing solution.

If you are working with an apathetic audience, or your listeners seem unaware that a problem exists, then a problem-solution pattern works well.

Refutation

A second way to persuade an audience is to refute your opponents' points by challenging their evidence in your speech and disproving their arguments.
