AirTran: Reducing the Information Burden
The AirTran flight information system is different from the United and Continental systems because AirTran serves fewer cities than the other two airlines do. This enables the designer to optimize how the system filters data. When a caller doesn't know the flight number, the system asks for the flight itinerary.

| CALLER: | I don't know. |
| SYSTEM: | All right, but if you had to guess, is it departing in the morning, afternoon, evening, or night? |
