Massimo Banzi ist Mitbegründer des Arduino-Projekts und hat bereits für Kunden wie Prada, Artemide, Persol, Whirlpool, V&A Museum und Adidas gearbeitet. Er war vier Jahre beim Interaction Design Institute Ivrea als Associate Professor tätig.
