If we are to define the descriptive model in general terms, then its purpose is to assist the understanding of reality by establishing the emergence of a particular phenomenon and describing relationships between relevant factors. Put more succinctly, its primary intention is explanatory. As has been mentioned earlier, any description of reality brings with it many issues regarding accuracy.
