Once-in-a-lifetime workloads

Once-in-a-lifetime workloads are a special case of periodic workload in which the peaks of periodic utilization occurs only once in a very long time frame. This peak is often known in advance as it correlates to an individual event or task. Cloud elasticity is used to obtain necessary IT resources. The provisioning and decommissioning of IT resources in this use case can often be done manually since it can be done at a known point in time.
