Network virtualization

There are three major approaches to the virtualization of network services:

  • The first, referred to as network virtualization (NV), is a network tunnel. This version is used to create tunnels through an existing network to connect two separate domains. This is done as an alternative to physically connecting two network domains. Using tunnels is valuable because it avoids physical labor associated with physically installing new domain connection.
