National data sovereignty laws are expanding globally. These new requirements not only apply to how an organization handles data but it also equally apply to data managed on the organization's behalf. The associated requirement may include legal restrictions on the location of the physical server when organizational data is present. Meeting location-dependent legal requirements may require the use of APIs that determine the location of the physical hardware associated with the delivery of all cloud services.
