Helping with decision making

Now that you understand more about what an apprenticeship programme entails, and you think it could offer a potential career progression route for your children, it is important to think about how you can help with their decision making. To do this successfully you need to know how to find and present information about all the alternatives, discuss the pros and cons of each option, encourage effective decisions and reach consensus while avoiding arguments. These issues are discussed in this chapter.
