20. Summary and Future Directions

The goal for this book was to provide a clear roadmap and guidance for developing products, particularly high-tech products and systems. Some of these products are more complex than others, involving both software and hardware. Many chapters provided a rather detailed flowchart that linked into an overall flowchart for DFSS, and many chapters provided real case studies and examples, to try to provide the reader with exactly what he or she needs to successfully apply the appropriate tools and improve how they develop new products.
