15. Predictive Engineering: Software Optimization

The predictive engineering approaches discussed in Chapters 13 and 14 are relevant for software as well as hardware. This chapter addresses some topics that are relevant to software in particular, including efforts to prevent or minimize software defects, and focuses on optimizing the software critical parameters that are important to meet each basic customer need and intended use of the product.
