3. Governance, Success Metrics, Risks, and Certification

Some of the goals for Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) were discussed in Chapter 2; this chapter will refine those goals into a set of success metrics for individual DFSS projects, and define the elements of a governance process to support meeting those goals. The success metrics allow the teams and the leadership to gauge the progress towards achieving success; a governance process provides a mechanism for the team and the leaders to make adjustments or, in some cases, more major decisions regarding the project.
