Appendix. Afterword

While writing this book, I accumulated a few thoughts that I’d like to share with you as my final considerations about XML and the Microsoft .NET Framework. If you consider these ideas individually, they might appear completely unrelated to one another, but considered all together, they form a sort of filter through which you can reconsider and review this book’s contents from a higher level perspective. These are the four main concepts:

  • XML is a native data type in the .NET Framework.

  • We need a parsing model that falls in the middle between the XML Document Object Model (XML DOM) and Simple API for XML (SAX).
