4.7. Troubleshooting
Here are a few points to consider if things don’t work properly.
If the client displays messages of the form ‘cannot connect to ORB,’ ‘connection refused,’ or ‘can’t find SerialContextProvider,’ then the most probable explanation is that the J2EE server is not running or did not initialize completely.
There are a number of reasons why the J2EE server will refuse to start up. First, the user account running it may not have write permissions in the part of the filesystem that the server uses for temporary files. The server will usually produce a helpful error message in that case.
