A.6. What’s missing
The proposed EJB 2.1 still does not specify how the EJB container should support automatically generated primary keys. For example, it should be possible to stipulate in the deployment descriptor that a sequence number should be used as the primary key and the container should do the rest. It remains necessary for the developer to handle primary key generation in the EJB logic.
