AirPort Base Station Models

As you know, the base station is the nerve center of the wireless network, from which the administrator can control access, performance, security, printing, and other features.

Prior to the release of the two different 802.11g-compatible models of the AirPort Extreme Base Station in January 2003, Apple produced two other 802.11b-compatible models of the AirPort Base Station. The similarities and differences between all of the models are discussed on the following pages.
