Base Station Exercise

The following exercise requires the use of an AirPort base station that is not part of a live network. You need a Macintosh equipped with the appropriate AirPort Card or AirPort Extreme Card, and Internet access via dial-up, DSL, cable modem, or Ethernet. If you have an AirPort Base Station (Graphite), you will also need an Ethernet crossover cable or two Ethernet cables and a hub.

This exercise involves disabling and enabling network services several times. Don't experiment on a base station that others are using for network access. First, locate and review the reset procedures for the model of base station you have, referring to the following resources:
