CRT Disposal

In the past, people used to take their old televisions to the dump and return home unencumbered by either the TV or any guilt that they might be doing something environmentally harmful. Now that so much more is known about these potential dangers, disposal is not just a car-ride away. Some old or faulty dead CRT assemblies, specifically color ones, cannot be thrown away with regular trash because they have the potential of becoming hazardous waste.

Nonfunctioning CRTs must be disposed of properly, in accordance with local waste disposal regulations. If you are an AASP and want to return a display to Apple, it must be enclosed in original packaging, and the display tube must not be broken.
