Video In/Out

Most Apple computers have two ways to deliver the video signal to an external display, such as a television, VCR, projector, or monitor:

  • You can send the RGB signal through the VGA/SVGA port to Apple and third-party RGB monitors, as well as to televisions and projectors that support RGB video input.

  • You can send the signal through the S-video port to VCRs, televisions, and projectors with S-video ports.

All currently shipping Apple computers have video-in via FireWire. All Power Mac G4 models have video-out via video card. Video-out via built-in port is available on the iMac (Early 2001), iMac (Summer 2001), iMac (Flat Panel), eMac, ...
