Chapter 8. Basic Fixes

When editing news and sports, you will frequently need to apply certain types of effects, not necessarily to add an artistic component, but to fix errors. Perhaps the material was shot with the wrong filter, or you have to blur someone’s face in a crime story. Several types of effects are described here, with ways to simplify their use.

Motion Effects

At times you may need to stretch limited material to fit into a predetermined space in the story. In other cases you may want to run a sports play in slo-mo. Both of these are motion effects and can be achieved in different ways.
