Appendix B. Bit Budget Calculator

Bit budgeting is a system of calculating the final size of a DVD project based on the elements—such as video, audio, and motion menus—that are included in the project. The great advantage of bit budgeting is that it allows you to precisely determine the amount of disc space available for your DVD assets, so you can encode your video at the highest possible quality.
