Chapter 10. Working with Frame Controls and Filters

Frame controls and filters let you augment the encoding process performed by individual codecs. Frame controls implement more advanced technology when converting video formats. Filters can add visual elements, such as watermarks and timecode burns, and can also perform general modifications to the video image. Frame controls and filters function as separate tasks during encoding, apart from the target’s codec. You can control this added layer of processing by implementing the job chaining tactics discussed in Chapter 4.
