Apple is known for making complex things appear simple. An excellent example of this is how the Finder displays the OS X file system to the user. By default the Finder hides much of the complexity of OS X from the user, and reveals only four folders at the root (or beginning) level of the system volume. Applications also appear to be single icons, despite containing all the resources necessary for a modern application. Also, many items appear in a more convenient location, but are actually stored elsewhere.
