Summary

In this chapter, we saw how we can use the different index handlers. With these, we can index data using XML, JSON, and CSV data to Solr. We also saw how we can use tools such as post.jar and post.sh, which come with the default Solr installation, to send documents to Solr for adding, updating, and deleting documents from the Solr index.

In the next chapter, we'll see how we can use the data import handler provided by Solr to import data from relational databases and feed it into Solr.
