Summary

This chapter has covered the development of the YMLD application using Visual Basic .NET and ODBC. A variety of ODBC methods were used to access the YMLD database, including code to display current productions, seat prices, and transactions.

This version of the YMLD application is based on the Java version that was developed in Chapter 11. There are many similarities between building an application in Java with JDBC and building it using Visual Basic .NET and ODBC. The same steps are required to connect to a database and manipulate database objects; thus, someone familiar with JDBC syntax should be able to develop an ODBC application in Visual Basic .NET.
