PORTRAITS
Drawing portraits was sometimes daunting to me when I was learning how to draw more realistically. There are so many elements of people’s faces that make them uniquely theirs. As soon as I let go of the idea of creating a perfect, photographic portrait of a person, my portraits became more interesting and exciting.
It is easiest to examine each facial feature separately and practice before tackling a full portrait of someone. Let’s take some time to look at how to draw a person’s eyes, nose, and mouth separately, and then put them all together to draw a complete portrait.
