Summary

This chapter presented quite a bit of information. We’ve covered the many different ways of getting Ant onto your system, including downloading binary distributions, downloading source distributions, and fetching source code directly from the Apache CVS repository. We then discussed building Ant from source and how to install it after you’ve downloaded a binary or built it yourself from source. We finished with a simple application that included a few components, and constructed a build.xml that can serve as the basis for future projects.
