Chapter 2. Character Animation

Creating the illusion of life is at the very heart of character animation. Successful animators are able to infuse their renderings with characteristics that allow their audience to empathize with a series of illustrations, even if the characters in those illustrations are inanimate objects like toys, cars, or even flour sacks (Figure 2.1 on the next page).
