EFFECTS ANIMATION AND EFFECTS FILTERS

In traditional animation, the term ‘effects’ covers elemental phenomena such as dust, water, smoke, lightning and fire. You often see these written as ‘FX’ (effects), ‘VFX’ (visual effects) or ‘SFX’ (special effects). Throughout this chapter we’ll refer to these as ‘effects animation’.
