If a meeting lasts one minute longer than three hours it has lasted one minute too long. The best board meetings last two hours. Three is just about acceptable, but any longer than that and people lose concentration, their eyelids droop, they lose energy and get bored or irritable, and all the careful preparation you have done goes to waste.
